Hypothyroid Diet Choices
In order to stimulate an underactive thyroid to produce enough thyroid hormones the best hypothyroid diet should include seaweeds like kelp and nori and foods that are grown in an iodine rich soil.
Iodine deficiency is the main cause for hypothyroid symptoms in poorer countries. Some other vitamins and minerals hypothyroid diets should contain are selenium, zinc, magnesium, calcium, potassium, vitamin A and the B vitamin complex.
Foods to avoid when you are dealing with the hypo thyroid disease are soy products, gluten and cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli.
You can also support your hypothyroid diet by avoiding tap water that contains fluoride and/or chlorine.
